Organic is the most
environmentally-friendly process, but it involves a complex set of
production standards for growing, storage, processing, packaging and
shipping. Producers have to comply with very extensive requirements to
become certified, including documentation, inspection and fees. It’s
very hard to get an organic certification, but if your customer is
determined to have the most eco-friendly products, then organic items
(including apparel made from corn or wheat) are the real deal.
Recycled products are obviously made from the reprocessing of materials into new products. Recycling is beneficial in two ways: it reduces the inputs (energy and raw materials) to a production system and reduces the amount of waste produced for disposal.
